Suresh Vasudevan
CEO

Suresh Vasudevan

Suresh has served as our CEO since 2011, and as a member of our board of directors since 2009. Prior to Nimble Storage, Suresh served as CEO of Omneon (acquired by Harmonic), and as a senior executive at NetApp for over 10 years where he led the company's product strategy and development and served as a key architect for the expansion of NetApp's product portfolio into new markets. Before joining NetApp, he worked at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. in New Delhi, Mumbai, and in Chicago, as a senior engagement manager. Suresh holds an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Calcutta, India and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in Pilani, India.

Varun Mehta
Founder and VP of Engineering

Varun Mehta

Varun leads our product development and customer support teams, and spearheads the strategy of the company with the executive team. Varun was the founding CEO in 2008, leading the company through its first three rounds of funding and a record rate of customer acquisitions. Prior to Nimble, Varun served as the vice president of engineering at PeakStream Inc., a startup that was acquired by Google. Varun also served as vice president of engineering and was the twelfth employee at Data Domain, where he built the team that delivered the company's first products to market and sold 800+ units in its first two years of shipping. Varun spent over six years at NetApp, which he joined as its eleventh employee. He also held senior management positions at FastForward Networks, Panasas, and Sun Microsystems. Varun holds an MS in computer engineering from Rice University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Umesh Maheshwari
Founder and CTO

Umesh Maheshwari

Umesh is responsible for defining Nimble Storage's product architecture and developing core technologies. Before founding Nimble, he was an early architect at Data Domain where he developed parts of their deduplicating file system and WAN-efficient replication. Previously, Umesh was at Zambeel, a maker of scalable file servers, where he developed a clusterized metadata service and automatic network configuration. Prior to Zambeel, he was at InterTrust, a pioneer in digital rights management, where he developed a patented tamper-resistant database system. Umesh holds a PhD in computer science from MIT, where he researched distributed object database systems. He also holds a BTech in computer science from IIT Delhi, where he received the President's Gold Medal as the top graduating student.

Anup Singh
Chief Financial Officer

Anup Singh

Anup brings over 20 years of world-class financial leadership to Nimble Storage.  His responsibilities include finance and accounting, legal, information technology, and administration. Prior to Nimble Storage, Anup served as CFO at Clearwell Systems (acquired by Symantec in 2011) and CFO at Warranty Corporation of America (an Asurion company). Previously, Anup was an executive officer at Trimble Navigation, and also held leadership positions in finance at Excite@Home, 3Com, and Ernst & Young LLP. Anup holds BA and MA Honors degrees in Economics and Management Science from Cambridge University, where he was a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust scholar, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Anup was recognized as CFO of the Year by the Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2009. 

Rod Bagg
Vice President of Customer Support

Rod Bagg

Rod leads our worldwide technical support and training teams, and drives our support automation and advanced science initiatives. Rod and team are developing a new paradigm for customer support that will become a key differentiator for the company. Prior to Nimble, Rod served as vice president of engineering at Glassbeam, where he co-founded the Glassbeam data analytics Software-as-a-Service. Rod has held senior management positions in support at Infloblox and at NetApp, where he was responsible for product support, support automation, and RAS initiatives. Rod earned his diploma in electrical engineering technology from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology.

Aparna Bawa
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Aparna Bawa

Aparna Bawa is responsible for all legal functions and oversight, including corporate governance and securities law compliance, intellectual property, commercial agreements, and organizational processes and policies. Prior to Nimble Storage, Aparna led the legal function at Inphi Corporation. Previously, Aparna was an investment banker covering technology companies at Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank, and practiced corporate and securities law at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto. Aparna has significant experience advising high-growth, emerging technology companies as they scale. Aparna holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Marquette University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Stacey Cornelius
Vice President of Operations

Stacey Cornelius

Stacey oversees all aspects of order management, supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics. Prior to Nimble Storage, Stacey served as vice president of global planning and logistics at SunPower, and spent 14 years at NetApp, beginning pre-IPO as employee 128. At NetApp, Stacey served in various capacities across operations, customer service, and lastly as vice president of sales operations. Stacey holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration, Production, and Operations Management from Cal State Hayward.

Dan Leary
Vice President of Worldwide Marketing

Dan Leary

Dan is responsible for all inbound and outbound marketing activities at Nimble Storage. Dan has a 20-year track record of success in managing industry-leading, award-winning hardware and software solutions. Prior to Nimble Storage, Dan served as vice president of marketing at ConSentry Networks and as vice president of product management at Peribit Networks, where he was instrumental in creating and defining the "WAN Optimization" category. Juniper Networks purchased Peribit in 2005 for $337 million. Dan also held management roles at netVmg, Lucent Technologies, and Bay Networks. Dan holds an MS in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University and a BS in systems engineering from the University of Virginia.

Mike Muñoz
Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Mike Muņoz

Leveraging over 20 years of experience in technology sales and management, Mike is responsible for developing Nimble's sales strategy and team, with a goal of rapidly growing the company to a become a storage industry leader. Prior to Nimble Storage, Mike served as regional vice president of sales for Data Domain, where he built and led the company's most successful sales division, contributing to a $2 billion+ acquisition by EMC in 2009. Mike also filled a variety of sales and sales management positions at Z-Force, BlueArc, and NetApp. Mike started his technology sales career at Ungermann-Bass Networks, and followed founder Ralph Ungermann to FVC where he helped contribute to a successful IPO. Mike holds a BS in business marketing and economics from San Jose State University.

Ajay Singh
Vice President of Product Management

Ajay Singh

Ajay leads our product management and technical marketing teams. He has over 15 years of experience in data storage, holding positions in product management, marketing, and engineering. Prior to Nimble, Ajay led a product management team with a broad portfolio of products at NetApp. He also held product management and product marketing roles at Decru and Logitech. Earlier in his career, Ajay worked on disk drive technologies at Quantum Corporation and the Data Storage Systems Center at Carnegie Mellon University. Ajay holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as well as M.S. and B.Tech. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and the Indian Institute of Technology, respectively.

Paul Whitney
Vice President of Human Resources

Paul Whitney

Paul serves as our vice president of human resources. He has held senior HR positions at technology companies, including Ascential Software, Portal Software (acquired by Oracle), and Infinera. At Infinera, Paul was part of the executive team that took the company public in 2007. Originally from the United Kingdom, Paul held senior international HR positions at Sybase and Digital Research. Paul holds a B.Sc degree in Managerial Science and an M.Sc. in Human Resources Management from Aston University in the UK.
