Nimble Storage Kicks off EMEA Channel Programme with Appointment Of S3

London, UK - Oct 13, 2011 – Nimble Storage, developer of the first converged data storage and backup solution, today launched its EMEA channel programme with the announcement of its partnership with S3 to rapidly grow its presence in the UK. According to the agreement the reseller will use Nimble's CS-Series arrays to bring primary storage, back up and disaster recovery (DR) in a box to SMEs that lack the technical resources and budget to manage multiple silos of technology within their datacentres but who require enterprise-class performance to meet the demands of applications such as virtualisation and virtual desktops.

The partnership is already generating significant interest in the CS-Series arrays; S3 has a strong track record of finding new and exciting technologies and companies to complement its existing portfolio of mainstream vendors and, with Nimble Storage, it can continue to provide end users with a high level of business productivity and customer satisfaction.

Philip Turner, EMEA sales director at Nimble Storage, said "As the pioneer of a disruptive technology it is important for us to have partners that understand how our solution is going to help end users address the challenges that they are experiencing today in their storage environment, and S3 fits the bill. It's early days but we are already seeing the fruits of this partnership, which is going from strength to strength."

The CS-Series arrays combine iSCSI primary storage, backup and disaster recovery in a single solution specifically aimed at SMEs, a growing and demanding market segment where high performance is fast becoming more and more critical. They bring together Flash and high-capacity SATA drives to deliver a performance- and capacity-optimised storage system that gives users a dramatic reduction in cost and complexity. This partnership will allow Nimble Storage to leverage S3‟s established team to quickly begin to fill a market gap for products that couple industry-leading file systems with affordable hardware.

Gurdip Kalley, business development manager at S3, is confident that this is the beginning of an exciting partnership. "Though this is the first time we are working with Nimble, we have had past experience with its team and we are keen to work with them again. Nimble offers enterprise-class data protection and disaster recovery that were previously only available as a multi-vendor, costly solution, and this is very attractive to many of our customers, who can also rely on these systems to rectify performance-related issues in their VDI and database deployments."
